The prize was given at the last night of concerts of the Mozart Marathon, after an entire week of performances, with a repertoire dedicated to the Austrian composer and the Classical period. The series was part of OSESP's Young Soloist Competition 2018. Each day, one of the finalists was given the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra, always under the direction of the British conductor Neil Thomson. At the end of the last concert, the young cellist Marina Martins was chosen by the jury to receive the Eleazar de Carvalho Prize. Marina will perform again with OSESP as a soloist in the Season of 2019.
